Returns & Exchanges

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason please contact us within 5 days of receiving your order and we will be happy to assist you.

Items purchased online can be returned or exchanged provided that you:

  1. Contact our customer service department within 5 business days of receiving your order.
  2. Return unopened products in original, saleable condition in the original shipping carton.
  3. Include your receipt (packing slip) along with a brief explanation stating why you are not satisfied with the item(s).
  4. Return within 14 days of the shipment date on the order's packing slip.

We will gladly replace returned items with a new selection of your choice or refund you the cost of the item(s) (less Shipping & Handling). Poster Plus will not accept returns of damaged items. Unframed posters must be in perfect condition, free from folds, dents, dings, tears, etc.

There are two ways you can return or exchange an item. Follow the Guidelines for Returns above and then:

  1. Visit the Poster Plus Chicago retail location one block from the Art Institute of Chicago, at 30 E Adams Street, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60603.
    We will provide you with an in-store credit equivalent to the amount of the returned item(s) and any sales tax paid on the item(s). Shipping & Handling charges are not refundable.

    2.   Ship the item(s) at your expense to:

We will issue a refund in the form of your original payment method for the returned item(s) and any sales tax paid on the item(s). Shipping & Handling charges are not refundable.

Please note: Credit or refund will not be given for items returned in damaged condition. We recommend that you use an insured carrier such as UPS or Fedex for return-shipping. Poster Plus cannot accept responsibility for unsolicited returns - please contact our staff before sending back any items.

Shipping & Handling

Shipping costs for International orders will be calculated after the order is placed. We will contact you via email for your approval of the international shipping costs. Poster Plus will not proceed with the processing or shipment of International orders until we have received customer confirmation of the shipping charges.
 
Poster Plus recommends the option of either UPS International or USPS International Priority shipping, as both are insured services and may be tracked during shipment. We may provide a lower cost option for international shipment, such as USPS First Class. Please keep in mind, that if the option of USPS First Class International is chosen, Poster Plus is not liable for shipments that are lost or damaged in transit, as such shipments are uninsurable and may not be tracked.
 
Additional customs fee and duties may apply to International shipments; these costs are not included in your shipping estimate.

Poster Plus will not ship to PO boxes.
 
Poster Plus will NOT ship framed posters outside of the Continental United States and Canada.
 
 
 

Sales Tax

In accordance with applicable state law, Poster Plus is required to charge sales tax in Illinois. Orders shipping to an Illinois address have 9.75% sales tax applied. Sales tax is applied to the total amount of the order, excluding shipping and handling charges and is based on Illinois and local sales tax rates. Shipments destined for some addresses outside of the United States may have additional taxes or duties applied to them. These amounts, if applicable, will be listed on the invoice/packing slip you receive with your shipment and reflect duties and taxes required by relevant government bodies.  

Redeeming gift cards :

To use online, enter the gift card's serial number in the "Gift Message" field at checkout.  

To use your gift card in-store, simply present it at the register when you purchase your order.

 

 

Our Privacy Statement

We neither sell nor share your information with outside companies or third parties.

When you purchase from our online store, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card information. You provide this information so we can process and ship your order. We respect your privacy by not selling or sharing this information.

We encourage you to sign-up for our e-mailing list. These letters provide you with advanced notice of store sales, new merchandise, and other store-related events. But, of course, you have the freedom to add or remove your name from our list at any time.

Online Security

Your credit card is completely safe.

Protecting your information is our highest priority. We have developed several safeguards to keep your information completely confidential. To proceed to checkout, you must enter your e-mail address and create a password. The checkout process itself employs Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)* technology to insure your safety.

*Secure Sockets Layer encrypts your order information and sends it to a secure server, making it impossible for that information to be decoded by a party outside of the store you shop with.

Furthermore, only our store will have your information; other members of the Modern Retail community will not have access to your information unless you decide to shop with them.

To check the security of your connection during checkout, look for the unbroken key or closed lock at the bottom of your browser window. This indicates SSL is active.

Shopping Online

To add an item to your bag, simply click the add to bag button next to it. (Items you put in your bag will not be bought by you until you have completed the checkout process.)

To remove an item from your bag, simply click the remove link next to the item you wish to discard.

To view what is in your bag at any time, click the "shoppingBag" link in the page header.

To purchase what you've selected, click on your shoppingBag and click "checkout". Follow the three simple steps to purchase your items.

Once we have confirmed your order, an account for you is automatically established for the Modern Retail community of stores.

To access your account in the future, click the "myAccount" button in the header of any page and enter the e-mail address and password you created at checkout.  (If you have not been through checkout, but would like to create an account, simply click on my account and follow the steps to create a new account.)
